(Concept Substitution)
The study found a correlation between social media use and anxiety.
The study found that social media use causes anxiety.
- 陷阱:correlation(相关性)≠ causation(因果关系)
(Overgeneralization)
Some studies suggest that coffee may reduce the risk of certain cancers.
Coffee has been proven to prevent cancer.
- 陷阱:some studies → proven; certain cancers → cancer(整体)
注意some/certain/部分 → all/every/整体的转换。
(Fabrication)
The new policy aims to reduce carbon emissions by 30% by 2030.
The new policy has already led to a significant reduction in carbon emissions.
(Over-inference)
The company's profits have declined for three consecutive quarters.
The company is likely to go bankrupt soon.
(Polarity Reversal)
The new treatment has shown promising results.
The new treatment has shown disappointing results.
- 陷阱:promising(有前景的)→ disappointing(令人失望的)
(Misattribution)
Younger employees are valued for their adaptability, while older workers bring reliability and experience.
Older workers are preferred because of their adaptability.
(Degree Shift)
This approach may help address the problem.
This approach will effectively solve the problem.
- 陷阱:may(可能)→ will effectively(将会有效地)
may/might/some/often → must/all/always/never的转换是常见干扰手段。
(Cause-effect Reversal)
Poor sleep quality leads to decreased productivity.
Decreased productivity causes poor sleep quality.
(Temporal Shift)
The government plans to implement the new regulation next year.
The government has implemented the new regulation.
- 陷阱:plans to(计划)→ has implemented(已经实施)
(Absolutism)
Regular exercise is generally beneficial for mental health.
Regular exercise is the only effective way to maintain mental health.
- 陷阱:generally beneficial → the only effective way
识别方法:看到all, only, never, always, must, completely, entirely等绝对化词汇时高度警惕。

Although the report's authors stopped short of directly attributing the increase in extreme weather events to climate change, arguing instead that the data merely demonstrated a troubling correlation, their language throughout the document—phrases such as "deeply concerning" and "urgent action required"—left little doubt about where they stood on the issue.
Although the report's authors stopped short of directly attributing...to climate change(尽管报告作者没有直接将……
- 分词短语:arguing instead that the data merely demonstrated a troubling correlation(反而辩称数据仅表明了一种令人不安的相关性)
- 主句:their language left little doubt about where they stood(他们的措辞几乎没有留下任何疑问——他们的立场是什么)
- 插入语:phrases such as "deeply concerning" and "urgent action required"(例如"令人深感担忧"和"需要紧急行动"等短语)
A:"The report directly attributes extreme weather to climate change"→偷换概念(stopped short of attributing ≠ directly attributes)
B:"The authors are uncertain about the relationship between climate change and extreme weather"→程度偷换(left little doubt ≠ uncertain)
| 语气 | 温和、留有余地(may, tend to) | 绝对化(all, never, must) |
Which of the following best describes the author's view on social media's impact on democracy?
Social media platforms have fundamentally altered how political information is disseminated and consumed. On the positive side, they have democratized access to information, enabling citizens to engage directly with political discourse. However, the same platforms have also facilitated the spread of misinformation and created echo chambers that reinforce existing beliefs rather than encouraging critical thinking. The challenge, then, is not to abandon these tools but to develop regulatory frameworks that preserve their democratic potential while mitigating their harmful effects.
A. Social media has been entirely beneficial for democratic participation. B. Social media should be completely banned due to its role in spreading misinformation. C. Social media has both positive and negative effects on democracy, requiring balanced regulation. D. Social media has destroyed democracy beyond repair.
- 原文结构:正面(democratized access)→ However转折(misinformation, echo chambers)→ 总结(not abandon but develop regulatory frameworks)
- B选项:"completely banned"→原文说"not to abandon",B与原文直接矛盾→正反混淆+绝对化表述(completely)
- C选项:"both positive and negative effects, requiring balanced regulation"→精确对应原文"positive side"+"however"+"regulatory frameworks"→正确
According to the passage, which of the following is true about the relationship between exercise and cognitive function?
A meta-analysis of 36 studies involving over 2,000 participants found that regular aerobic exercise was associated with modest improvements in executive function, particularly in adults over 50. The benefits were most pronounced for tasks requiring sustained attention and working memory. Interestingly, the analysis revealed no significant effect on processing speed, suggesting that exercise selectively enhances certain cognitive domains rather than producing a blanket improvement. The researchers cautioned that the studies varied widely in methodology and that more rigorous trials are needed before definitive conclusions can be drawn.
A. Exercise significantly improves all aspects of cognitive function in people of all ages. B. Exercise has been definitively proven to enhance executive function in older adults. C. Exercise appears to selectively benefit certain cognitive abilities, particularly in older adults, though more research is needed. D. Exercise has no measurable effect on any cognitive function.
- A选项:"significantly improves all aspects...in people of all ages"
- 原文:"no significant effect on processing speed"→A说"all aspects"→以偏概全
- 原文:"adults over 50"→A说"people of all ages"→范围偷换
- B选项:"definitively proven to enhance executive function"
- 原文:"more rigorous trials are needed before definitive conclusions"→B说"definitively proven"→与原文矛盾
- C选项:"selectively benefit certain cognitive abilities, particularly in older adults, though more research is needed"
- 原文:"selectively enhances certain cognitive domains"→C对应"selectively benefit certain cognitive abilities"→同义改写
- 原文:"adults over 50"→C对应"particularly in older adults"→同义改写
- 原文:"more rigorous trials are needed"→C对应"though more research is needed"→同义改写
- D选项:"no measurable effect on any cognitive function"
- 原文:"modest improvements in executive function"→D说"no measurable effect"→正反混淆
- A选项:"significantly improves all aspects...in people of all ages"
- 正确选项越来越像paraphrase(同义改写),干扰项越来越像原文照搬
